Wedding party in Maison Noilly Prat
Katie and John threw their wedding party at Maison Noilly Prat in Marseillan: a flower-filled courtyard, barrel-lined chais, and wall-to-wall music courtesy of a DJ and a live band. Planned by Anéia Events, with flowers by Fustaq Florals, the day ran from a pétanque lesson to a giant Jenga tower to a dancefloor that never quite stopped. Here’s the story, in photos.
Not that anyone skipped the effort. Lisa, from Anéia Events, planned the whole day, and Liz, from Fustaq Florals, dressed the courtyard and tables in red, orange and warm-toned flowers. The kind of arrangements you can’t resist to take in picture. Add a neon sign reading “The World Is Your Oyster,” and a wine bottle or two turned into centerpieces, and the whole party announces its mood before the first guest even sits down.
The day itself never really slowed down. Music ran wall-to-wall, switching between a DJ set and a live band all day long. The Gentlemen Riviera brought guitars and sax into the mix, while Mamour Dj (Arnaud & Ophélie) handled the rest of the decks, and also, somewhere in the middle of the afternoon, gave a genuinely unexpected pétanque lesson to a very British crowd discovering the rules for the first time. Spritz in one hand, boule in the other, respectable effort all round.
Somewhere between the terrace drinks and the barrel-cellar dinner, a giant Jenga tower showed up, and I spent an unreasonable chunk of the day just watching it, waiting for the fall. Worth every minute, got the shot!
Dinner moved everyone into the chais, a couple of speeches, bride included. And then: the dancefloor. Coloured lights, a full floor for hours, that specific kind of blurred, happy chaos that only shows up once people have stopped thinking about how they look. Black and white suits it best.
What stuck with me most, honestly, was how kind everyone was: the couple (we’d already done a couples session together in Antibes, so this felt like round two with old friends), the planning team, the venue staff, all of it. No stress, no rush, just a very well-run party that let everyone actually enjoy it.
