Wedding Photographer in the South of France
Unstaged, lightly guided when needed, never fake. I shoot weddings from the French Riviera to the South-West for English-speaking and international couples planning a destination wedding, who want to live it, not rehearse it.

If your uncle does the worm, I’ll be there.
You’re getting married under a Mediterranean sky. Your people are flying in from the UK, the US and everywhere else, squeezing into the same villa, and the rosé is already cold. It is your dream, not a script. You want to be in the middle of it, not lined up against a wall for forty minutes of group pictures.
Hi, I’m Thibault, a French photographer, and my clients call me the guest who takes pictures. I’m there from the getting ready to the last song. I clink glasses with your friends, I chat with your grandmother (she is amazing), and I’m in position before the kiss, not after it.
At a wedding, the groom did forward rolls across the dancefloor and the first dance opened with heart-shaped glasses. I got both. That’s my kind of party: serious about the people, relaxed about the rest, and fun whenever it can be.
My style is unstaged, lightly guided when needed, never fake, and inspired by editorial photography for the framing, with real people instead of models. Elegant when the setting is (a stone bastide, a long table under the plane trees), loose when the party gets going. When I do guide, it’s for the light or for a moment that calls for it. Your gallery reads like a book, with wide shots, tight shots, and a few chapters in black and white.

A guest who blends in
He fits around you, not the other way round.
Concrete memories
Tangible memories that are not erased during an update.
Images that stay with you
Human, funny, alive.
Where I work across the South of France
France is a lot of map. Here it is, area by area.
Montpellier, the Hérault and the Languedoc
My home turf: vineyards, garrigue, the sea, and a road network designed around roundabouts. Weddings at Mas Hinaiti in Montpellier, Château de Valflaunès, La Grangette in Montagnac, Maison Noilly Prat in Marseillan, Domaine de la Trinité in Mauguio and Domaine de l’Argentière in Montblanc. Montpellier, Béziers and Pézenas are the towns around it, and the guide to venues around Montpellier is the place to start.
Gard and the Petite Camargue
Bulls, white horses and pink flamingos live next door in the Camargue. Weddings at Le Grand Mas in Uzès, La Verrerie in Durfort and Domaine de Ceyrac in Conqueyrac, an engagement session on the Espiguette beach, and a morning-after session at the Tour Carbonnière near Aigues-Mortes. Nîmes and Arles are close.
Provence: Aix-en-Provence, the Luberon and the Alpilles
Lavender, yes. Also a sun that does not negotiate at 2 pm in August, which is why I’ll gently talk you out of a 2 pm ceremony. Looking for a Provence wedding photographer? I travel to Aix-en-Provence and its stone bastides, to the vineyards and hilltop villages of the Luberon, Gordes, Ménerbes and Bonnieux, to the Alpilles around Saint-Rémy and Les Baux, and to Avignon. In the lavender fields of Valensole, Kyle proposed to Bruna without her seeing it coming.
The French Riviera: Nice, Cannes and Saint-Tropez
Yes, the sea really is that blue. Unfiltered, as promised. I travel to Antibes, Nice, Cannes and Saint-Tropez, all along the Côte d’Azur. Want to meet before the wedding? An engagement session by the sea, in Antibes for instance, is a good idea, and a dream venue for a first date with the camera.
Pyrénées-Orientales and the Aude
Mountains on one side, the Mediterranean on the other, and a tramontane wind that styles everyone’s hair for free. Weddings at Château Nadal Hainaut in Le Soler and Calmel et Joseph in Montirat with a ceremony in Carcassonne, and an engagement session by the Canet lagoon. Perpignan, Narbonne and the fishing village of Collioure are close, and the vineyards come down to the sea.
Toulouse and the South-West
The pink city: pink bricks, a pink Capitole, and a golden hour that goes even pinker. Halte en Cocagne in Marzens with a civil ceremony at the Capitole in Toulouse, Castres, Montesquieu-Volvestre and Eauze. Albi, Bordeaux and the Dordogne vineyards are within reach, so all of south west France is on the map.
I’m a destination wedding photographer from the land of lavender fields, vineyards, unreasonable amounts of rosé, and village squares where the pétanque game never really ends.
How to book from abroad
- Send me a message with the contact form of this website. Tell me about your plans.
- I reply within 24 to 48 hours.
- We meet on a video call. It’s free, with no commitment, and lasts an hour or more. It usually happens within a couple of days of your message. Tell me where you live and I’ll sort out the time zones and find a slot that suits us both. If you live nearby, we can meet in person instead.
- During the call, you tell me about your wedding and I give you advice, including on the organisation. I walk you through my collections, explain every point, build a collection around your needs, and show you full galleries so you can see how I document a wedding.
- If you like the proposal, I send a quote, and your date is secured with a bespoke contract and a retainer.
I work with couples from all over the world. Kyle and Bruna planned a whole proposal in Valensole with me by message and call. As a South of France wedding photographer, I don’t need a scouting visit: I rely on the light, the feeling and your schedule, and I arrive with my energy on you. If your planner wants me on site, or you visit the venue off-season and want to meet, I’m glad to.
What you get
A promise, mostly: your celebration told as it felt, by someone who was in the room and not in the way. Here is what comes with it.
From the getting ready to the last song
Your whole wedding, with the getting ready, the ceremony, the dinner and the dancefloor. Some of you want the whole weekend, with the welcome dinner on Friday, the Sunday brunch and the other events around the wedding, and I follow you from a single celebration to a long weekend. A second pair of hands joins when it is needed.

An engagement session before
You choose the place, we set it up together on a video call, and you come dressed normally, for a relaxed hour with no pressure. It is the gentlest introduction to the camera, and you arrive on the day with a friend already in the room.

A day after session
Soon after the wedding, sometimes weeks later, in your wedding attire, somewhere unusual. No timeline, no guests, no hurry. Just the two of you, and a landscape you chose.

A gallery that reads like a book
Inspired by editorial layouts, your main gallery follows the timeline in order, with wide shots, tight shots and the small moments in between. Group pictures and posed portraits go in a separate chapter, so the flow is never interrupted. I can add a gallery for your vendors or for the decoration if you like.

An album made to last
The cover is natural Tuscan leather, stitched by hand. It is designed to last for years and to be passed on, long after the files have moved to a new hard drive.

Support from the first call to the delivery
The goal is a calm, easy experience, so the only thing left to do is enjoy it. After you book, you fill in a short questionnaire, including the faces of the loved ones who matter most, so I know whom to look for: the people who are special to you. We have a call about three months before, and again a week before. On the day, I share the guests’ meal, and I’m there for the speeches and everything that happens during dinner.
Delivery in two steps
You get a highlight gallery, a best-of of your day, within one week, and the complete gallery within eight weeks. The gallery is yours to share with your family and on social media.

Testimonials

“What touched us most when we first looked at Thibault’s photo album was the quality of the reportage, which allowed us to relive our wedding day in its entirety.
With discretion (which was greatly appreciated by our guests), Thibault always knew how to be in the right place at the right time.
The photos are natural, full of movement, emotion and life.
The black and white photos of our preparations capture moments of grace and complicity for eternity.”
Audrey & Corentin
“A unique perspective! Thibault captures the beauty of the moment! Artistic beauty, it’s true, he sees it! It draws him in!
Let’s also talk about the beauty of knowing glances, of facial expressions that tell a story and express the emotion of the moment. Emotion that also contains a whole story and reveals its sacred meaning.
Thibault immerses himself in your world to capture the essence of what is happening! An unexpected man and an unexpected work. For lovers of authenticity, beauty, contrasts and light, laughter, we recommend Thibault with strength and conviction!”
Sabrina & Gérald

What the FAQ ?!
How do I book a photographer if we live abroad?
Send the contact form, then we meet on a free video call of an hour or more. I do the jet lag maths. After the call, I send a quote, and your date is secured with a bespoke contract and a retainer.
What should we ask before hiring someone abroad?
Ask to see full galleries, not only highlights. Ask how they behave during the wedding, how many hours of coverage you need, and when you receive the pictures. Then ask for a video call. It tells you quickly whether you click, and you will spend the whole celebration with this person.
Do you work in Provence and on the French Riviera?
Yes. I travel to Aix-en-Provence, the Luberon, the Alpilles, Nice, Cannes, Antibes and Saint-Tropez.
How much does a wedding photographer cost in France?
Short answer: it depends. Longer answer, no spreadsheet needed. The price follows the number of hours, and what you add around the wedding: an engagement session, a welcome dinner or other events, a brunch, a session afterwards, a second photographer, an album. The minimum is 8 hours, because it is the least I need to document a wedding day properly, and a complete wedding from the getting ready to the first dances needs more. During our video call, I walk you through my collections, explain each point, and build the one that matches your wedding. You know exactly what you pay for before you book.
When should we hold the ceremony in summer?
Skip the middle of the afternoon in July and August. A 2 pm ceremony in that heat is hard on everyone, guests and pictures included. A later ceremony is more comfortable, and the light is softer.
When should we shoot portraits of the two of us?
In most cases, during golden hour, just before sunset. The light is softer, warmer and more flattering. Golden hour changes daily and varies depending on your location, whether you are in Provence, Occitanie or on the French Riviera. I created a dedicated guide with daily updated golden hour schedules: South of France Golden Hour Guide.
Do you need to scout our venue beforehand?
No. I rely on the light, the feeling and your schedule, and I arrive with my energy fully on you. If your planner needs me on site, or you want to meet me at the venue off-season, I’m glad to.
How do you handle group pictures and posing?
I guide more than I direct, and I pose very little. Family group photos are part of the day if you want them: we agree on the list beforehand, and they can happen during the getting ready or right after the ceremony. Kept short and organised, they leave you more time with your guests and the drinks.
Do you work with every kind of couple?
Yes. Every kind of wedding and every kind of people, in every corner of the map. Sixty to eighty guests is my favourite size, because I get to meet everyone at least twice, but smaller and bigger parties are welcome too.
When do we receive the pictures?
A highlight gallery within one week, and the complete gallery within eight weeks. The album is proposed afterwards, once the wedding season is over.
Do you speak English?
Mais oui bien sûr ! With a charming French accent. I’m fully bilingual in French and English, which makes a real difference for international and mixed couples looking for a South of France wedding photographer.
Where can I find answers about the process, the investment and delivery?
Everything about the process, the investment and delivery is in the FAQ.
