Engagement photoshoot in Montpellier: a romantic stroll through the historic center
As a wedding photographer, I am always delighted when an engagement photoshoot in Montpellier allows me to rediscover this city that I love so much. It must be said that Montpellier and I go way back: I lived there during my studies, and every corner of the historic center brings back fond memories… and a few overly long aperitifs.
So when Julie and William, who live in Montpellier, asked me to do their engagement photo session there, I jumped at the chance, and hopped on the tram to Place Albert 1er, the starting point for a lovely late-afternoon photo walk.

A golden stroll through the center of Montpellier
We met up in front of the tram stop, the sun already shining brightly. From there, we strolled to Saint-Pierre Cathedral, passing through Square de la Tour des Pins, a little-known green space that’s perfect for taking photos in the shade of the pine trees.
The light was magical, the kind of May light that makes you realize you’ve chosen the right profession.

Unicorns and romantic alleyways
Walking up Rue Saint-Pierre, we ended up at Place de la Canourgue, one of my favorite spots for a couple’s photo shoot in Montpellier. Between the cobblestones, the unicorn fountain (yes, unicorns! we don’t mess around with fantasy here) and the pastel facades, everything was in place to create images that were both elegant and full of tenderness.
Julie and William were relaxed and natural, and their complicity was obvious. As for me, I was my usual ninja self with my camera.

Sunset over the Arc de Triomphe and the Promenade du Peyrou
We continued our photo shoot towards Montpellier’s Porte du Peyrou, which looked majestic in the last rays of the sun. A classic, certainly, but a classic that really stands out. The contrast between the golden stone and the azure blue sky was a real joy to photograph.

To finish off in style, we settled down on the Promenade du Peyrou, opposite the Saint-Clément aqueduct and its famous basin. The view of Montpellier at that time of day? Like a living postcard. The kind of moment suspended in time that gives even more meaning to my work as a photographer.
